Saturday was Opening Day for the Gladwin Little League’s baseball and softball teams. To mark the big event, the teams and coaches assembled at the County Courthouse and paraded down Cedar Ave. Saturday morning, escorted by members of the Gladwin Police Dept, the Sheriff’s Office and the Fire Dept.

New soccer, football practice fields under construction

GLADWINWork is underway to build new practice fields for soccer and Junior High football for Gladwin’s athletes.Over the winter a local forester, Dan Jacobs, cut down trees in the area east of the current football practice field and north of Meadow Lanes to create the new fields.

LANSINGOn April 29, Steven John Caplan, 31, and Kayla Marie Earls, 35, both of Harrison, were arraigned before Judge Lisa Babcock of the 54B District Court in East Lansing for allegedly committing transportation fraud in the Medicaid program, announced Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel.
