Beaverton Alumni Association reunion slated

BEAVERTON The Beaverton Alumni Association will meet on May 1 at 3 p.m., at the Beaverton Activity Center, 106 Tonkin Street, upstairs in the Cedar River Room. A business meeting will be held and a discussion on the upcoming reunion.

Track and field records were broken at Gladwin High School. Logan Klein threw 55 feet, 4 inches in the shot put, and Caleb Palmreuter ran the 1600 in 4:21.07.

Hole in one

Kyler Toupien made a hole-in-one on number 7 at Gladwin Heights Golf Course on Saturday, April 6 with a 9-iron. The hole in one was witnessed by Jamie Regallata.

Gladwin girls run second at Freeland Invitational

FREELAND First place was set in stone Saturday when Petoskey won the Freeland Invitational girls’ track meet with 132 points, but Gladwin also rocked some outstanding performances and took second with 101, just ahead of Midland Dow with 99. “I’m very happy with what the girls have done so far,” said Flying G’s coach Kernie Gilliam.

FREELAND When it came down to who was the top boys’ track team at the Freeland Invitational Saturday, it really didn’t matter what everyone else did. Gladwin finished first with 93 points, despite not entering any of the four relay events.

Gladwin softball bounces back with doubleheader sweep

GLADWIN After a rough start, the Gladwin softball team came home and turned things around by sweeping a doubleheader from Kalkaska last Monday. “These young ladies are pushing each other hard to get better and it is working,” said Flying G’s coach Carl Schuler.
