Hunting from an elevated tree stand is a fairly common way to hunt, but there are a few more things to think about when it comes to staying safe. With many game seasons in Michigan opening in September – National Tree Stand Safety Awareness Month – it’s the perfect time to brush up on what you need to know about hunting from a tree.

Iwould like to add some more information to my article last week about the two police vehicles that were approved for purchase by the Gladwin County Board of Commissioners at their meeting on Tuesday, July 11. The vehicles were approved to be purchased with funds from the American Rescue Plan (ARPA).

In my lifetime, I have visited the hospital on various occasions. Happy visits like the birth of my daughter and grandsons.

GLADWIN The Gladwin Area Artist Guild is offering a free, week long art camp for kids ages 6-11 at the Gladwin Library. Kids will create all sorts of fun projects, paper cup spiders to superhero animals, monster pencil toppers to clothespin ponies.

GLADWIN During last week’s fair, Leslie Edick won the title of Homemaker of the year. Leslie first found out about the Homemaker of the Year competition while her and her daughter were scrolling through the 2023 Fair Book.

GLADWIN The Gladwin Conservation District is partnering with MyMichigan Health this summer to bring Grow & Grill events to the community. The next event will be held on Friday, July 28 from 5:30-7 p.m.

BEAVERTON The Gladwin Area Friends of the Theatre (GAFT) is returning to a classic Broadway performance with The Fantasticks, a musical by Tom Jones. This is the world’s longest running musical with 42 years off-Broadway.
