Maxwell’s Pumpkin Farm closing after 53 years

BEAVERTONA53-year Halloween tradition will come to an end in Beaverton Friday when Maxwell’s Pumpkin Farm finishes one last season of providing pumpkins, smiles and even a little agricultural knowledge to scores of loyal visitors.

Veterans Day program slated for Nov. 11

Swiss Steak Dinner/ Pie Auction Fundraiser for Kid’s Boot Project

GLADWINThe annual Swiss Steak Dinner/Pie Auction Fundraiser, put on by the Gladwin Christian Men’s Club (GCMC) of the New Beginnings Methodist Church will be held Saturday, Oct. 25, serving from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Cost of the dinner will be $14 per adult, $8 kids ages 12-6, and under five free.

Crash claims life of Midland County man

MIDLANDThe Midland County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a two-vehicle fatal traffic crash that claimed the life of Daniel Graiver, a 78-year-old Larkin Township male. The crash occurred on Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2025 at approximately 1:40 p.m.
