Snow BuntingToday I was out driving the rural roads north of Gladwin, scanning the fields in hopes of finding birds unique to this habitat and the winter season: Snow Buntings. Driving slowly northward on Shell Road, I spotted some movement in the road ahead.

GLADWINBooks on stage for GAFTeen’s January production of The Bookstore are on their way to a real-life bookstore in town.GAFT donated the books to the nonprofit Friends of the Gladwin County Libraries’ used bookstore, located upstairs at the Gladwin public library.

Family Fun Festival slated May 16

Food distribution at Christ The King

GLADWIN COUNTYThe Gladwin/ Beaverton Community Food Distribution (GBCFD) will be hosting it’s next distribution on Feb. 21, 2026 at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 600 S. M-18, Gladwin.Address verification will be required for all food recipients. The handing out of food, will begin about 10 a.m.

Gladwin Gathers at the North Park Winter Wonderland Saturdays and Sundays from 12-5 p.m. During those hours, residents are welcome to take part in sledding and ice skating. Sleds and skates are available to borrow. There is also a fire pit and a warming shed that offers hot cocoa and treats.
