BEAVERTONThe going got tough for the Beaverton soccer team last week as the Beavers lost three games in four days.On Monday, host Pinconning ran away with a 6-1 victory. The lone goal for the locals came from Emily Skotynsky with the assist from Joslyn Spencer.

Gladwin finishes second in soccer standings

GLADWINWith Standish running off with the title with a perfect record, the race was for second place in the Jack Pine Conference soccer standings.Gladwin won it, finishing with a 9-3-2 mark that put the Flying G’s comfortably ahead of contenders Bullock Creek and Ogemaw Heights.

FARWELLAfter three Jack Pine Conference events in four days, the Gladwin golf team proved it is a contender for the league title last week.The Flying G’s finished first once and second twice in the events, which took them from Mount Pleasant to Midland to Farwell.
