When I need to dust the ceiling, I don’t have a fancy contraption; I just use my broom. If you have popcorn ceilings, you can rubber band a feather duster to the end of your broom. Look around your house, and maybe you’ll find a sneaky cleaning purpose for everyday items.

Thunder on the Strip at Zettel Memorial Airport Sept. 9

The Thunder on the Strip event will be taking place on Saturday, September 9. The event will be held at Zettel Memorial Airport, 735 S. State St., Gladwin. Registration begins at 8 a.m. and the racing starts at 11 a.m., all cars and trucks are welcome to register for the 1/8 mile drag race.

GLADWIN The 52nd Dick Allen Lansing to Mackinaw (DALMAC) Bike Tour went through Gladwin during the week of August 27 through September 2. The bike tour is run by volunteers and is one of the oldest bike tours in the country.

GLADWIN COUNTY Few Steps From Home Animal Rescue in Gladwin County recently took in a dog named Elijah. Kathy Archambault from Few Steps From Home Animal Rescue explained that after being hit by a car, Elijah was in need of surgery.
