Gladwin County Fair receives grant from Consumer Energy Foundation

The Gladwin County Fair has received a grant from the Consumer Energy Foundation for $10,000 in order to purchase a new set of portable bleachers. The bleachers will benefit the community for different events like Thunder on the Strip, Events during the Gladwin County Fair, and more.

VA covers cost of Parkinson’s care for family of Veterans who served at Camp Lejeune

The VA announced that family members of Veterans exposed to contaminated drinking water at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune from Aug. 1, 1953 to Dec. 31, 1987 are now eligible for reimbursement of health care costs associated with Parkinson’s disease under the Camp Lejeune Family Member Program.

Reps. Bierlein, Hoadley introduce plan to address deer baiting ban

State Reps. Matthew Bierlein and Mike Hoadley have introduced new legislation that provides practical solutions to the state’s controversial deer baiting ban.
The proposals allow for deer and elk baiting in some circumstances and offer clarity to existing law.

The officers were hired as probationary COs who were already licensed law enforcement officers in Michigan and previously served different communities. The 10-week academy focused on fish, game and recreational laws, rules and regulations specific to natural resources.
