Freeze-dried candy store holds grand opening

GLADWIN One of the more unique businesses that sells freezedried candy and other treats in Gladwin County recently held its grand opening storefront in the Family Fare Plaza at 1210 N. State St. on Friday, December 22. Kelsey Cody is the owner of Kelso’s Freeze Dried Goodies, LLC.

Childbirth Education event January 20

BEAVERTON There will be a Childbirth Education event for families who are in the third trimester of pregnancy at the Beaverton Activity Center, 106 Tonkin St. Beaverton, on January 20 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Young Farmers raise money to fight hunger

GLADWIN COUNTY The Young Farmer programs from the Clare and Gladwin County Farm Bureaus have teamed up to donate $1,860 each to help fight hunger. Eleven teams squared off at the inaugural Harvest for All Golf Scramble at Gladwin Heights Golf Course in August.

Gladwin Winter Carnival slated

Green roofs are saving green dollars

LANSING As cities continue to expand, the amount of unused rooftop space grows too. Steven Peck, the founder and president of Green Roofs for Healthy Cities, said that flat roofs are wasted spaces. The organization is an association of the green roof and wall industry.
