BEAVERTON On Sunday, January 7, just after 4 p.m., the Gladwin County Central Dispatch received an emergency call from a caller that reported that they discovered a truck and two men in a pond.

ROSCOMMON COUNTY On Sunday, January 7, at approximately 10:45 a.m. a passerby called 911 after observing a person in the water of Dunham Lake, next to a kayak, that they believed to be drowning. The caller attempted to rescue the person, but was unsuccessful.

GLADWIN After a recent Public Protection Classification (PPC) survey by the Insurance Services Office (ISO) on the Gladwin Rural Urban Fire Department, Gladwin’s PPC was upgraded from a class five to a class four grade and will be in effect on February 1, 2024.

WBCAA plan for the new year

GLADWIN West Branch Creative Art Association (WBCAA) members have operated a nonprofit art cooperative, Fourth Street Artists Gallery, in downtown West Branch for fifty years.
The Michigan Masonic Charitable Foundation presented with a donation to the Gladwin County Veterans Relief Fund aiding veterans and their families to help provide heating, electricity, and food. Co-Ed Volleyball back for 16th season

BEAVERTON The 16th season of Co-Ed Volleyball at the Beaverton Church of the Nazarene, 540 Lang Rd., begins on Thursday, January 4. The games will start at 6:30 p.m., 7:15 p.m., 8 p.m., and 8:45 p.m.
The Gladwin Conservation District held their first event of the year on January 1, 2024. The event was about a two mile hike at the Gladwin County Recreation Area, 1365 N. Shaw Rd., Gladwin. There were 16 people that turned out for the event. Hikers enjoyed nice weather and cookies while on the trail.
