Spongy Moth program seeks millage renewal

Last May in 2023, the Spongy, formally known as Gypsy, Moth Suppression Program in Gladwin County, treated over 7,000 acres in Gladwin County. This year, at the end of spring and beginning of Summer, just over 2,000 acres will be treated.

For those who attend the Gladwin and Beaverton City Council meetings, County Commissioner’s meetings, or other county events like the Legislative Breakfast, you would have heard of the new group in Gladwin called the Gladwin County Community Builders.

Located at 142 Saginaw Street in Beaverton is a new glasses donation box. Anyone with unused pairs of glasses can drop them off in the box to donate them to those in need.

WINTER STORM HITS GLADWIN

A winter storm went through Gladwin on Friday, Jan. 12 and Saturday, Jan. 13. The County received around 10 to 12 inches of snow and high winds that resulted in blizzard-like conditions. Many businesses and schools were closed due to the forecast.

Gladwin County 4-H Fish Fry Fundraiser

The Gladwin County 4-H Knights of Columbus Fish Fry Fundraiser is Friday, February 9 from 4-7 p.m. at the Gladwin Knights of Columbus Hall.
The profits from each dinner sold will go to the Gladwin County 4-H Leader’s Council and will benefit our senior scholarship fund.
