MARSP meeting slated for May 20

TSchool Personnel (MARSP) – Gladwin County Chapter will meet on Monday, May 20, 2024, at the Gladwin Church of Christ in its fellowship hall, 425 E. Grout Street, Gladwin, located behind the Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home.Lunch will be served at 11:30 a.m., followed at 12 p.m.

Food distribution at Christ the King May 18

GLADWINThe Gladwin/Beaverton Community Food Distribution (GBCFD) plans to host distributions the third Saturday of each month, with its next distribution being on Saturday, May 18 at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 600 S.M-18, Gladwin.Address verification will be required for all food recipients.

Michigan National Guard collaborates with Michigan Department of Natural Resources to complete state park upgrades

LANSINGAseries of construction projects, executed in partnership between the Michigan Army National Guard and the Michigan Department of Natural Resources, will occur at Wilderness State Park from May 3 to May 13.

Gladwin City Council discusses new business

Gladwin City Council met on Monday, May 6 for a regularly scheduled meeting. Though he wasn’t at the meeting, council had a Recognition Award ready to present to Gladwin High School Teacher, Chad Donahue. Linda Winarski praised Mr. Donahue and the work he does at the school.

Thunder on the Strip racing action begins May 18

The Spring Thunder on the Strip 1/8 mile drag racing event is slated for Saturday, May 18 at 735 S. State St., Gladwin. Registration is from 8-10:30 a.m. with racing beginning at 11 a.m. All cars and trucks are welcome.Online pre-registration is currently open. Pre-register by going to forms.
