Beaverton boys basketball dropped their first loss of the season on Friday in the Beavers home opener against the Meridian Mustangs 25-44.
The Mustangs throttled the Beavers in the first quarter, shutting them out with a 12-0 run. The Beavers suffered another dreadful blow in the third quarter, being outscored 11-4.
