Sonja Erway

Sonja Erway, age 81, of Beaverton, passed away on Sunday, September 8, 2024. She was born a Valentine’s baby on February 14, 1943, the daughter of Guy and Janice (Linton) Hillman.

While she was always an outstanding homemaker she also worked for many years as a receptionist and insurance biller in a medical clinic, and as a line packer in local factories. She was an avid deer hunter, had a passion for bowling, and was on many bowling leagues, being named a Senior Bowler of the Year. Known jokingly as Old Macdonald to her kids, she loved her animals including her chickens, goats, pet squirrel, cockatiel, pot belly pigs, horses, every stray cat in the neighborhood and especially her many dogs.

Sonja leaves behind her two children: Trent (Forrest Burdue) Erway and Shawn (Darla) Erway; longtime friend and life companion, Ron Roberson; siblings: Sherryl (Mick) Stitz, Bill Hillman, Skip Hillman, Tam (Steve) Wuelfing, and Jeff (Deb) Hillman; sister-in-law, Peg Hillman; granddaughters: Madison (Tyler) Menheer and Bailie Erway; and great-grandchildren: Landon and Leighton Menheer.

Preceding her in death are her parents, Guy and Janice Hillman; and brothers: Larry Hillman and Eric Hillman.
