Laura Gayle Welch
Our Mother, Laura Gayle Welch, died on July 27. She was 100 years old. Mom was a lifelong resident of Beaverton, Midland, and Ypsilanti.
She was our family’s heart. Mom and our Dad, Edward (deceased) raised the three of us, Mike (Jeanne), Pat (Sasha) and Craig (Anne), in Beaverton.
She had six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Anyone knowing our Mom will remember her big heart and easy laugh. As we grew up, she was den mother, bleacher mom, and made our home a great place for our friends to hang out. She loved spending Summers at our cottage on Beaver Island and enjoyed traveling the United States and in Europe. Mom was a past president of the Midland Women’s American Legion and volunteered at both the Midland and Ann Arbor Red Cross Blood Banks.
A private family service was held in Midland, Michigan on August 8, 2024.
