Edward “Ed” A. Henry, age 90, of Gladwin passed peacefully on Sunday, June 9, 2024 at Gladwin Nursing and Rehabilitation Community, Gladwin. Edward was born August 19, 1933 in Flint, Michigan the son of Raymond S. Henry and Lizzie E. (Barnes) Henry.
Immediately following Ed’s high school graduation, he began his long career as a commercial and residential roofer. Edward was united in marriage to Marjorie Jane Proszkowski on August 26, 2015 in Gladwin.
Mr. Henry had resided in Gladwin since 2015, moving from Harrison, where he had resided since 1989, moving from Flint.
In 2023, Ed was presented with his 70-year pin from the International Roofers Union. He enjoyed trout fishing on the Cedar River and many other lakes and rivers, golfing and bowling.
Ed was a golfing starter with Snow Snake Ski & Golf for many years as well as he bowled on numerous leagues throughout the years in Gladwin.
Surviving Mr. Henry is his loving wife of eight years, Mrs. Marjorie Jane Cochran of Gladwin; four step-children: Cheryl Lopetrone and husband Nick of Gladwin, Mark Cann and wife Debbie of Clinton Township, Michigan, Carol Parks and husband John of Louisianna and Denise Rice and husband Steve of Royal Oak, Michigan; one grandson, Dakota Lowers; plus several step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; one brother, Charles C. Henry and wife Rita of Burton, Michigan; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Mr. Henry was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Edward Henry Jr.; two daughters: Dorothy Elizabeth Henry and Kathy E. Henry; three sisters: Cecilia Henry, Doris McCallum and Virginia Daniels; one brother, Raymond Henry; and two brothers-in-law: William McCallum and John Daniels.
Private Celebration of Life services for Mr. Henry will be held at a later date.
