None of the hundreds of people who showed up last Wednesday at the Gladwin County Recreation Area to watch the Jack Pine Conference’s second boys’ cross country jamboree of the season can say they weren’t warned.
A bright red sign prominently displayed along the course said, “Caution. Aggressive nesting hawk in area. Proceed at your own risk.”
