No matter the falling snow nor the messy streets, wrestling was still in session last Wednesday. Beaverton traveled to Clare to faceoff with the Pioneers of Clare and the Eagles of Farwell in conference duels. Beaverton first defeated Farwell 72-12; however, their second bout of the evening, the Beavers suffered heartbreaking defeat to Clare 37-36.
Clare, the conference leaders, had their hands full with the second place Beaverton Beavers, escaping defeat by a thread. Both the sideline and the audience exploding in excitement early and often. One moment it would be the Beavers, the next, the Pioneers as the two teams engaged in exchanging blows and triumphs.
