The Beaverton Beavers varsity volleyball season officially ended November 8, losing to the Oscoda Owls in the regional round of the playoffs.
Beaverton started strong taking the first two sets of the match with scores of 25-23 and 25-14. Beaverton looked primed to secure a regional title. Oscoda, however, wouldn’t fall so easily, coming back to win the final three sets to snatch the trophy from the Beavers grasp.
The Beavers lost set three, uncharacteristically scoring only 15 points to the Owls 25 points. Set four was much closer, Oscoda winning 25-21. The final set was a nail biter, one that had potential to go either way throughout the contest. Ultimately, the Owls edged out the Beavers 15-13.
The Beavers had an amazing season placing second in the Jack Pine conference, only a game out of first. They secured yet another district title, playing deep into the playoffs. They will lose some players to graduation, but have plenty of juniors ready to continue the tradition next season.
