The Beaverton Beavers Cross Country teams journeyed to Mid Michigan College in Harrison October 19 for the Jack Pine’s third and final Jamboree of the season.
Beaverton senior Taj Spencer finished twelve, among 65 boys, in the Varsity Boys 5K meters race. His runtime was 17 minutes, 59 seconds.
Spencer ran 0.35 second behind Gladwin’s Ethan Edgar and nearly a second faster than Gladwin’s John Whitman. Gladwin’s Seth Mead took first place with a time of 16:23.
Tessa Wohlschlegel ran next participating in the varsity girls 5K meters race.
The race featured 51 girls, Wohlschlegel placing eleventh among them. She finished with a time of 21:11, an improvement of 30 seconds better than the last time she ran the Mid Michigan College course on September 21.
Pinconning’s Kinsie Jacques placed first with a time of 18:44.
The Middle School squads participated in a 1.84-mile race. The boys race featured 48 runners while the girls had 68 competitors running.
Beaverton’s Braeden Hargrove took 17th place with a time of 11:58 followed by Riley Sprague in 38th with a time of 14:09. Cameron Greer finished 47th with a time of 20:46.
For the girls race, Myah Hubble finished in tenth with a time of 12:55.
