Gladwin JV-B Volleyball takes a set to warm up then rises to victory

The Flying G’s JV-B volleyball team was in Shepherd last Wednesday for a conference matchup against the Shepherd Blue Jays. Gladwin won the match two sets to Shepherd’s one.

Gladwin showcased a different rotation in the first set and required players to play positions they normally have not played before. The change resulted in an uncharacteristic performance from the ladies. Several errors were made on serves and serve-receive. Gladwin lost the first set 15-25.

The Flying G’s returned to their regular lineup for the last two sets, giving the girls more confidence and energy. Gladwin bounced back and won the second set 25-15, forcing a third set to be played.

Gladwin preceded to win again taking the third set with a score of 15-12 to win the match.

Lela Gee had a great performance at the net with two kills and three tips. Gee placed the ball well finishing the night with two assists and two aces.

Audrey Schmidt finished with six assists and four aces.

Natalie Bock contributed with three assists and two aces.
