With the addition of 35 new members who completed training this week, the Michigan State Police (MSP) Tactical Bike Team is ready for the busy summer season. Established in 2016, the Tactical Bike Team consists of over 100 troopers and sergeants who are specially trained in crowd management and crowd control at large events where vehicles are hard to maneuver, such as parades, demonstrations and festivals.
“With the start of summer comes the festivals and parades we love here in Michigan,” said Col. James F. Grady II, director of the MSP. “Our Tactical Bike Team is a great resource for events where we need to adapt quickly to manage crowds where a patrol car would not be able to go.”
