    Several states offer a child tax credit in addition to the federal one.

    Now, stakeholders are pushing for Michigan to follow their lead.

    A bill by Rep. Bill G. Schuette, R-Midland, would allow taxpayers to claim a state-level tax credit equal to 50 percent of their federal child tax credit.
