Darlene Jessie Powell
Darlene Jessie Powell, age 71, of Beaverton, passed away on Friday, Feb. 13, 2026. She was born on Nov. 4, 1954, the daughter of Thomas Hoag and Jessie Whitfield, in Gladwin. On Jan. 2, 1976 she married the love of her life, James Powell. Together they shared 50 years filled with love and cherished memories. They lived in Beaverton for 31 years. Throughout that time, Darlene owned and operated Hometown Video for 17 years.
Darlene loved to crochet, read, and garden. Most of all, Darlene loved her family, cherishing the moments spent with them.
She is survived by her beloved husband, James Powell; children: Arabelle (James) Rottman, Crystal (Curtis Puffer) Crowl, Timothy (Becky) Powell, and Jessica Johnson; bonusson, Scott Johnson; grandchildren: Kendra, Kenneth, Dustin (Jenna), Dylan (Juliet), Shelby (Kenna), Trenten, Brinley, Matthew, Caleb, and Jaden; greatgrandchildren: Kynleigh, Mason, Adelynn, Cooper, Benjamin, Brooklyn, Jameson, and Jensen; siblings: George (Michelle) Hoag and Stella Miller; sister-inlaws: Joann Hoag and Carol Ragle; along with many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Jessie; grandchild, Meghan Johnson; brother, Thomas Hoag; and brother-in-law, Allan Ragle.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Feb. 19, 2026, 11 a.m., at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Gladwin. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Cremation will take place following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in honor of Darlene to Transitions Hospice.
