Harry E. Coney Jr.

Harry E. Coney Jr.

Harry E. Coney Jr. went to his heavenly home on Nov. 3, 2025 after a brief illness. Harry was born on June 8, 1953 to Harry Coney Sr. and Vera Lee Coney (Stroman). He was employed at Dow Corning, retiring after 28 years of employment.

Harry truly loved his family and cherished time with his grandkids. He enjoyed being in his deer blind during hunting season, and in past years taking trips to the UP hunting with his close friend Lou Dykstra.

He also spent many hours with another close friend, Rick Williams, at his hunting cabin, here in Gladwin.

Many of his younger years were also spent fishing with many family members and friends.

Harry was a jack of all trades, no matter the project he was always there lending a hand to friends and family.

And wherever he went, he would always meet up with someone he knew and have great conversation.

Harry married Linda Benchley on May 4, 1974.

They were blessed with three children: Dawn (Shawn) Swartzmiller, Jason (Laura Lee) Coney, and Eric (Felicia) Coney. His family continued to grow with nine amazing grandchildren: Shaylynn (Houston), Gage, Chase, Logan, Malaysia, Rigdyn, Cashton, Knox, and Boone. Harry and Linda celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary this year.

Harry was loved by his mother-in-law, Donna Benchley; and siblings and extended family: Dan and Rita Coney, Vickie Coney, Roger and Cheryl Benchley, Mark and Kathy Murphy, Tina Lundquist, Mike and Sheryl Benchley; and many nieces and nephews. Harry was predeceased in death by his parents, Harry and Vera Lee Coney; father-inlaw, Daniel Benchley; and grandson, Knox Coney.

Funeral arrangements will be conducted by Sisson (Ramsey) Funeral Homes, with funeral details found at sissonfuneralhome.com.
