Veterans invited to breakfast

GLADWINEmmanuel Baptist Church, 3089 Pratt Lake Rd., will host its annual Veteran’s Breakfast Saturday, May 24, 2025.All veterans and their spouses are invited to attend the free pancake and sausage breakfast from 8:30-10 a.m. at the church.

BEAVERTONThe Beaverton Alumni Association will be meeting Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at 3 p.m. The meeting will be held upstairs in the Cedar River Room at the Beaverton Activity Center, 106 Tonkin Street, Beaverton. They will have a short meeting and will be getting the reunion letters ready to mail.

LANSINGState Rep. Mike Hoadley (R-Au Gres) Tuesday welcomed testimony from Baldwin Township Clerk Cathy Pittsley at the Election Integrity Committee. Pittsley testified in support of House Bill 4356, sponsored by Hoadley, who is also a member of the committee.

Estate Planning seminar slated for July 9

GLADWINAn Estate Planning seminar will be held on July 9, 1 p.m., at Antler Arms, located at 215 S. Antler St. in Gladwin, in the dining center.Topics will include avoiding scams, wills versus trusts, powers of attorney, Lady Bird deeds, and strategies for avoiding probate.
