Study finds shortage of ‘bereavement services’ in parts of the state

Bereavement services such as grief counseling, support groups, hospice care and memorial services are disproportionately distributed across Michigan, according to a study from the University of Michigan and Wayne State University.

Places that lack adequate access to such services are known as “bereavement deserts.”
