An unforgettable season came up one step shy of a trip to the Division 5 state championship game at Ford Field for the Ogemaw Heights football team Saturday when the Falcons lost a thrilling 34-24 battle with Grand Rapids West Catholic in the semifinals at Clare.
The Falcons ran into a talented, superbly prepared team that was clearly focused on taking away their punishing ground game.
