Ben Verellen finished third with a personal-best time to help Gladwin win the team title at the Blue and Gold Invitational Saturday in Mount Pleasant.

First place was as easy as 1-2-3 for the Gladwin boys’ cross country team Saturday at the Mount Pleasant Blue and Gold Invitational.
Seth Mead won the race with Elijah Christensen second and Ben Verellen third to power the Flying G’s to the team title with 40 points.
Midland Dow was second with 49, followed by the host Oilers with 60 and Ludington with 77.
