Brendan Burton and Clare wrapped up the regular season with a tough loss at Petoskey last week and will take on Saginaw Swan Valley in the first round of the playoffs Friday.

The good news is that the Division 5 football playoffs begin this week and Clare is in the field after finishing the regular season with a 6-3 record that sets up a first-round battle at Saginaw Swan Valley (8-1) Friday night.
The bad news is that the Pioneers are heading into the fray on the heels of a 49-7 loss at Petoskey Friday night that was not much of a contest.
