Beaverton boys split a pair of hoop games

    BEAVERTON

    Two solid defensive efforts resulted in only one victory for the Beaverton boys’ basketball team last week.

    On Thursday night, the Beavers stayed close to Jack Pine Conference Division 1 visitor Ogemaw Heights, but came up short in a 42-37 loss.

    “That was a tough one,” said Beaverton coach Shad Woodruff. “We always talk about how defense will keep you in games, but you have to score to win.
