Larry Dean Haines, of Chandler, AZ, passed away on December 29, 2023 at the age of 86, due to complications from ALS, surrounded by his loving family. Born on September 3, 1937, in Gladwin, MI. Larry lived a life rich in love, service, and laughter.

Larry was a proud graduate of Central Michigan University and served as a 1st LT in the Army from July 1959 to July 1962. On January 2, 1960, he married the love of his life, his surviving wife, Jane, celebrating 63 wonderful years together.

A career in sales allowed Larry to showcase his natural gift for connecting with people. He was passionate about his work but found his true joy in various sports – from golf to tennis, pickleball, and cycling. His competitive spirit and love for staying active were infectious.

Beyond his pursuits, Larry dedicated himself to serving others. His charitable efforts for the homeless through organizations like the Salvation Army and IHELP reflected his compassionate heart and unwavering generosity.

Larry was the beloved father of five children: Vicki Watson, Monica Haines, Tony Haines, Kim Geringer, and Tod Haines. His younger brother, Roger Haines; sister, Judy Edick; six grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren also cherish his memory.

His light-hearted nature, sharp wit, and unwavering kindness touched the lives of all who knew him. He brought laughter wherever he went and made friends easily with his charming personality. His involvement in the Chandler Church of Joy was a testament to his faith and dedication to his community, where he served as a valued member of the priesthood.

Though Larry’s journey ended due to ALS, his spirit and impact will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. His family and friends find solace in knowing that he is now free from suffering and has left behind a legacy of love, laughter, and selflessness.

A celebration of Larry’s life will be held through a private family golf outing on Saturday, January 27, 2023 at his home golf course, Springfield.

Larry will forever be remembered for his generosity, humor, and unwavering kindness that touched countless lives. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered as a beacon of light to all who were fortunate enough to have known him.
