Joy (Supnick) Flury
Joy (Supnick) Flury of Gladwin, formerly of Royal Oak, Michigan, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday November 22, 2023, passing unexpectedly at her home. Heaven gained the very best. Her belief in God’s word was a guiding force in her life that provided her with strength and comfort; Joy’s legacy of love, faith and kindness will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
Joy was born in Detroit on September 2, 1942 to the late Bernhart (Barney and Elaine Rasmussen) Supnick. She attended and graduated with honors from Warren High School Class of 1960.
Joy married John (Roger) Flury on June 25, 1966, he survives her. She was a strong-willed woman who lived her faith and was a beautiful light for Jeus. She was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church where she was the prayer chain person.
Joy had a contagious smile and her presence would light up the room.
She was a huge Hallmark fan loved shopping the limited-edition products, playing solitaire and scanning receipts on fetch. Joy touched lives of many and will be greatly missed.
Surviving, besides her husband of 56 years, are their children, Amy Flury and Matthew Flury; and a granddaughter, Jenna Flury; a brother, Jerald (Phyllis) Supnick; a sister, Faith (Dennis) Schroeder; several nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 30, 2023, at 11 a.m., from Our Savior Lutheran Church with Pastor Adam Flanick presiding with inurnment at Oakview Cemetery, Royal Oak, Michigan in the spring of 2024.
Family will receive visitors at the church on Thursday from 10 a.m. until time of services.
