Wayne D. Peters, 98, of Gladwin, MI, formally from Flint, MI, and Lakeland, FL, passed away on April 8, 2023 at The Brook in Gladwin, MI. He was born October 28, 1924 in Gladwin, MI, the son of Percy and Cassie (Powley) Peters. He was united in marriage to Beverly Hager on Dec. 17, 1944, until her passing June 27, 2015.
Wayne proudly served his country in the United States Army during WWII. He was employed at General Motors Truck Assembly, in Flint, before his retirement. In his free time he enjoyed playing golf, was an avid bowler, and never lost his love for farming and gardening.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Sharon Daugherty of Carryville, TN; Jack (Peilien) Peters of Gladwin, MI; grandchildren, Shawn (Kurt) Dunham, Richard (Cheryl) Daugherty, Tim (Terry) Daugherty, Greg (Caryn) Daugherty, and Carmyn Daugherty; Wayne D. Peters
eight great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife; son-in-law, Bob Daugherty; granddaughter, Julie Peters; and grandson, Doug Daugherty.
