Emile Joseph Gauthier, age 98, of Gladwin, passed away on Monday, January 23, 2023, at the Gladwin Pines. He was born on July 28, 1924, in Fall River, MA to the late Alexander and Anna (Fluet) Gauthier.
Emile met and married his childhood neighbor, Lauretta Richard, on November 11, 1946 in Royal Oak, Michigan. Together they shared five children, Robert Gauthier, Vivianne (Walter) Klaus, Thomas (Patricia) Gauthier, Diana (Brian) Boeving, and Judy (Chuck) Maxson.
After the passing of Lauretta in 1995, Emile found love again in Deloree Bartkowiak and married her in Gladwin, Michigan on October 23, 1999. Emile loved to fish, do word searches, bird watch, and do puzzles.
He also loved to tinker and create things.
Emile is survived by his wife of 22 years, Deloree; his children, 17 grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Armand Gauthier and his sister, Emma Silvia. Emile is predeceased by his first wife, Lauretta; brothers, Dick and Jerry; sisters, Regina, Rolande, Imelda, Doris; and his son, Thomas.
A funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 11 a.m. He lay in state from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Visitation was held on Monday, January 30, 2023 at Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home-Gladwin Chapel from 2-7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to St, Jude’s. Arrangements have been entrusted to Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home-Gladwin Chapel.
