Evelyn C. Winkles
Evelyn C. Winkles, age 89, passed away on Monday, January 9, 2023, surrounded by her family at the Gladwin Pines. She was born on April 19, 1933, in Callaway, KY to the late Oscar and Vinacathern (Craig) Parker. She met and married the love of her life, Ernest Lee Winkles, on December 24, 1951, in Detroit, MI. Together they shared 71 years full of life, love, and laughter before her passing. Evelyn was very active in the Oak Grove Log Church. She loved reading and crafts, but most of all she loved spending time with her family.
Evelyn is survived by her sons, Richard Lee Winkles and Charles Eugene Winkles; daughters, Deborah (Edmund) Catherine DeMatteis, Crickett (Kenneth) Christine Jayska; brothers, Charles Parker, Denver “Dewey” Parker, James Parker, Jayo Parker, Bill Parker and Hanzel Parker; and sisters, Christine Fields and Edith Parker. She will also be dearly missed by 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 17, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home-Gladwin Chapel, 135 North Silverleaf St, Gladwin, MI. Family will greet friends from 10 a.m. until time of service on Tuesday. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 16, 2023, from 1-8 p.m. at Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home-Gladwin Chapel.
