Anne Elizabeth Wicklin, age 90 of Gladwin, MI passed away on Tuesday, November 29, 2022, at MyMichigan Medical Center West Branch. She was born in Toronto Canada on November 4, 1932.
She started working at the age of 14 in banking, later marrying and moving to Michigan. Then she moved west for her health. Her career continued as Operations Officer of Trust Dept, years later Deputy City Clerk of Palm Springs, CA. Anne returned to Michigan and was a proofreader for the Gaylord Newspaper. All of this on six months of high school.
Anne loved data, keeping records, and anything learning. She enjoyed her flowers and doing cryptograms and acrostic puzzles in the morning. She loved God. She will be greatly missed.
Anne is survived by her daughter, Deborah Smith; grandchildren, Tisha (Alex) Ortiz, Kevin (Megan) Smith, and Michael Smith; great-grandchildren, Dante Ortiz, Kody, Matthew, and Emma Smith, and Christopher Smith. Also surviving in Canada is nieces, Sekooia Anne Elizabeth Wicklin
Lake of Bern, Ontario and Sandra Jacobson of Vancouver, British Columbia; nephew, Kenneth Redfern of Toronto; and close family, Richard and Linda Spragg of Gladwin.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert James Redfern and Violet Rosina Redfern; brothers, Robert, Gordon, Norman, and Cliff.
Cremation has taken place and a private gathering will be held at a later date. May God hold her in the palm of his hands.
