How to refer a family to Christmas Kindness

If you have, or know about, a friend, co-worker, neighbor, or any other Gladwin County acquaintance with children 0 to 18 years old, or families who could really use some Christmas Kindness this year, please don’t hesitate to call 989-426-9349 or stop by the Christmas Kindness office at 963 N. M-18 in Gladwin. Christmas Kindness staff will be able supply a form to fill out with a name and contact information.

Christmas Kindness depends on local awareness of families who are new to Gladwin County, families who are going through unemployment, families experiencing health related hardship, or families who simply find themselves in the middle of a tough year. Think about your co-workers, your neighbors, your children’s friends, etc. Who does Christmas Kindness need to be made aware of?

Now is the time to refer those families, so that their children can be “adopted” by the caring people of Gladwin County and beyond. Please don’t hesitate to give Christmas Kindness your referrals as soon as possible!

If you are a resident of Gladwin County with children 0 to 18 years of age, and find yourself in need of help this holiday season, please stop by the Christmas Kindness office. Janie, Brenda, Marlene, Bobbie Jo, Stacy, Karrie, Beulah, and others will be there to help you fill out your form and listen to your needs.

Keep in mind, Christmas Kindness is not for families who already have and want more, but rather for families who wouldn’t have items of warmth (coats, hats, gloves/mittens, warm socks, and blankets) or items that bring joy into the holiday season (toys, books, games, stuffed animals, and arts and crafts) without the kindness of people who care about Gladwin County’s families in need. The staff hopes the community will work with them in order to refer only those families who truly need some Christmas kindness!
