Beaverton PD prepares annual Thanksgiving Dinner giveaway

BEAVERTON

The Beaverton City Police Department is raising money for their annual Thanksgiving Dinner Giveaway. For every $500 raised, an officer will go for a swim in the frigid waters of Ross Lake.

The Beaverton Police Department is also looking for families in the area that are in need of a Thanksgiving dinner. They are asking that you let them know through private message or an email to bdavis@beavertonmi. org. You may ask for your family or nominate someone you know. Beaverton Police will help as many families as possible.

In order to provide a dinner, the department needs to know a name of an adult in the household, how many people are in the family, an address to deliver the food, and a telephone number.

They would like all names in by today, November 16 as they plan to deliver the food on Tuesday, November 22 in the afternoon/ evening. They plan on delivering turkey, potatoes, stuffing, corn, cranberry sauce, rolls, and a pumpkin pie.

If you would like to donate to this great cause, please feel free to drop your donation off at Beaverton City Hall located at 128 Saginaw St. PO Box 477, Beaverton, MI 48612 or mail it in C/O turkey dinner. Please make checks payable to Reserves of Beaverton with Turkey Dinner in the memo.

There is also a GoFundMe set up for the effort. To donate online through GoFundMe, visit gofundme. com and search “6th Annual Beaverton Police Thanksgiving Dinner.”
