GLADWIN
Kiwanis members are committed to making a difference in the county and state for children and youth.
The state of Michigan has a Kiwanis Foundation that funds a trained, certified staff member at each of the four children’s hospitals in Michigan. These professionals work to make the hospital stay for children and youth as comfortable as possible, helping to remove some of the fears of all the strange procedures and routines of daily activities.
In 2021, eight Beaverton and 18 Gladwin children and youth were served in the following hospitals: C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital (Ann Arbor), Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital (Grand Rapids), McLaren – Northern Michigan Hospital (Petoskey) and Children’s Hospital of Michigan (Detroit).
The Gladwin Kiwanis Club presented the new trustee badge to Karen Moore who has recently become a Kiwanis of Michigan Foundation Trustee. She becomes a part of a team of Kiwanians from around Michigan to help manage the foundation and raise funds to continue to build up the funds for the foundation and support these professionals.
Check out the Kiwanis Club by attending a Kiwanis meeting at the Riverwalk Grill at noon on the first and third Wednesday of each month. Consider being a part of making a difference in the community and the world.
