There is no “closed season” for birding. Sure, most Michigan birders would tell you that May is the prime month, and there are other key birding seasons during the year, but most birders I know head out birding throughout the year. Hunting is generally in the autumn months; fishing has its season as well (ice fishing notwithstanding); but birding is a 365-day pursuit for many of us.
