Freshman Taryn Roberts and junior Ian Roberts gave Beaverton a set of First Team All-State siblings when the Basketball Coaches Association of Michigan named each to its Division 3 honor squad.

Beaverton boys’ basketball coach Shad Woodruff used to drive down his street past the neighbor’s house, see a brother and sister playing basketball in the driveway and not think much of it.
The Roberts family had a boy and a girl, two years apart and their mom, Darcie, had been a player at Alma College before taking a job as a coach at Northwood, so it wasn’t all that remarkable to see the kids bouncing the ball now and then as they grew up.
