Michigan Army National Guard Training Underway at Camp Grayling

The Michigan Army National Guard (MIARNG) has commenced annual training at Camp Grayling Joint Maneuver Training Center (CGJMTC), bringing Soldiers from across the state together to strengthen readiness and refine mission-essential skills through June 12. While primary training operations will center at CGJMTC in Grayling, additional units will simultaneously conduct training at Fort Custer Training Center (FCTC) in Augusta and other regional readiness sites across the state. This year’s training will focus on increasing individual and collective readiness across a wide range of skills. Over the first several days, a large-scale mobilization exercise (MOBEX) at Camp Grayling will bring numerous units together to complete medical, administrative and other readiness processing. Concurrently, more than 4,500 Soldiers statewide will sharpen their skills in weapons qualification, logistics, rotary-wing aviation, engineering projects, communications and administrative readiness.

“Annual training is critical to ensuring our Soldiers, leaders and units remain ready, capable and prepared to respond whenever called upon,” said U.S. Army Maj. Gen. Paul D. Rogers, adjutant general and director of the Michigan Department of Military and Veterans Affairs. “These training opportunities strengthen readiness, reinforce teamwork and allow our service members to sharpen the skills needed to support missions at home and abroad.”
