Aprayer gathering was held Sunday afternoon on the steps of the Gladwin County Courthouse as part of Rededicate 250: A National Jubilee of Prayer, Praise and Thanksgiving, a coordinated movement calling Americans to spiritual reflection and renewal during this milestone year marking the 250th anniversary of the founding of the U.S.
Pastor Joe Dorais of Emmanuel Baptist Church led the group, which joined together to sing “America The Beautiful,” “My Country ‘Tis of Thee,” and “The Battle Hymn of the Republic,” in addition to taking turns offering prayers for national spiritual renewal and awakening; political leaders at all levels of government; police, fire, first responders and members of the military; the renewal of churches throughout the nation; and for the protection of life at every stage from birth to death.
