Cynthia Dawn Pettit
Cynthia Dawn Pettit, of Rhodes, loving Nana, mother and wife passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 at the age of 75.
She was born to Jay and Erlene Horton on Nov. 27, 1950 in Pigeon, Michigan. She married the love of her life, Robert Pettit, on May 22, 1971 and they built a beautiful life together. After she retired, she embraced life’s simple pleasures. Using her gift of extreme perfection and detail, she tended to her yard, exquisite flower gardens and many crafts. Her favorite pastime was keeping up with her three extraordinary grandchildren, who quickly became the center of her world. She enjoyed many trips to Elk Hill, also finding peace and joy in the saddle. She planted love wherever she went and it will continue to bloom in all of us. World’s best Nana, forever and always.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Robert Pettit; daughters: Terri Lynn (Lou) Dominion and Bobbie Jo Santos; brother, Jay (Kathy) Horton; sister, Barb Urie; grandchildren: Jordan (Justine) Pettit, Brooklyn (Henry) Schmaltz, and Miranda (Cam) Santos; great-grandchildren: Chloe, Oliver, Theodore, Waylon, and Scarlett. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jay and Erlene Horton.
Per her wishes, a celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home-Pinconning Chapel.
