Kelly Kay Pettit

Kelly Kay Pettit

Kelly Kay Pettit, age 59, passed away on April 24, 2026, at Harbor Woods Adult Foster Care with her family at her side. She was born on May 10, 1966, in Bay City, Michigan, to Leslie “Tom” and Gail (Wright) Pettit. Kelly was a loving, friendly, and creative woman whose warm spirit touched the lives of many. She will be remembered for the kindness she showed to others, the gentle way she welcomed people, and the special joy she brought into everyday moments. Those who knew her well could always count on being greeted with a smile and her familiar invitation to “come with me, I am making you a picture.” That simple phrase reflected so much of who she was, because Kelly found happiness in sharing her creativity and in making others feel included and loved.

She enjoyed many simple pleasures throughout her life. Kelly loved puzzles and playing cards, and she especially enjoyed making jewelry, with bead jewelry being one of her favorite creative outlets. She also loved coloring and drawing pictures, and she took great delight in expressing herself through art. Another favorite pastime was going for rides anywhere at all, as she enjoyed the journey as much as the destination. Her interests reflected her gentle nature and her appreciation for the beauty found in small, meaningful things.

Kelly worked in food service as a hostess. In that role, as in all areas of her life, she had a natural ability to make others feel welcome. Her friendly personality and caring heart left a lasting impression on those she met. She carried herself with warmth and sincerity, and she had a way of making ordinary moments feel special.

Kelly is survived by her mother, Gail Pettit; a cousin, JoAnna (Sean) Keenan; her uncles: Gordon Pettit, Larry (Steve) Pettit, Robert Pettit, and Gary Wright; her aunts: Mitzie Pettit-Hewitt and Carol (Wayne) Potter; and her very special friend, Gay Gill; and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, Tom Pettit; her brothers: Casey Pettit and James Pettit; her grandparents, Leslie and Marian Pettit, and Vern and LeLa Wright; and her aunt, Cindy Pettit and uncle, Albert Hewitt.

Kelly’s life was one of quiet beauty, gentle affection, and meaningful connection. She leaves behind memories that will be cherished always, and she will be missed dearly by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Though her time on earth has ended, the love she shared and the joy she created will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends.

Funeral services were held Monday, April 27, 2026, 1 p.m., from the Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home-PINCONNING Chapel with Pastor Reed Schorer presiding with burial in Gibson Township Cemetery.

Family will greet friends and relatives at the funeral home on Monday from 10 a.m. until time of services.

Those wishing and expression of sympathy are asked to consider Clay Street Place, Greenville, Michigan.
