Nevin W. Christman Jr., age 81, passed away on April 16, 2026, at his home in Beaverton, Michigan, surrounded by his family. He was born on August 30, 1944, in West Hazelton, PA, to the late Nevin Sr. and Marion (Wetzel) Christman.

Nevin lived a life marked by hard work, devotion to family, and a steady commitment to doing things well. He was known as a creative, handy, and friendly man who could turn his hand to nearly anything. Those who knew him best understood that he was a perfectionist in all that he did, while at work. He had a practical mind and a quiet pride in a job done right. Nevin was a jack of all trades and enjoyed using his talents in many different ways.

He graduated from East Detroit High School in 1962 and later entered the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. His service to his country was an important part of his life, and it reflected the sense of duty and responsibility that guided him throughout the years. In 1976, he moved north and began working at McArdle dealership, where he remained for 21 years until his retirement. His long career was a testament to his work ethic and the respect he earned from those around him.

On Oct. 3, 1964, in East Detroit, Michigan, Nevin married the former Joyce E. Bradshaw. Their union was blessed with two children: Charlene (Robert) Feiss, and Mark (Tracy) Christman. He was a proud grandfather to Brock Milan, Grace (Jacob) Ungemach, and Lauren Christman.

Nevin’s family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to MyMichigan Hospice for their wonderful care and comfort given to them. Honoring his wishes, cremation will take place. Those wishing an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Fisher house Foundation of Michigan affiliated with the VA Medical facilities in Michigan.
