Getting old is not for the young!

I woke from a well-deserved nap in my “Comfy Chair” and popped up to stand, noticing I really did “Pop” up to stand! My knees made a popping sound! I have noticed that as my birthdays have rolled by, my body makes some noises, and joints remind me that they are there with some aches and pains. I also find differences in my sleep patterns.

I used to stay up until midnight, sleep until 8 a.m. in the morning, and on weekends, even longer.

As a teenager, I could sleep until afternoon, unless I was told to get up and cut the grass or take the garbage out. Now I wake up at 5 or 5:30 a.m., no matter what time I go to bed. My list of friends seems to keep getting smaller as some are called to go home to God! I’m on my ninth dog, I wish they lived longer, and I realized the statistics suggest no more puppies. Physically, it’s gotten harder to raise them! I no longer want to sleep on the floor next to the crate to comfort them and keep them from barking. The floor seems to have gotten harder and has moved farther away! It is also more difficult to get up from the floor. I need a piece of furniture to help me rise. I no longer go for runs or jogs; now I walk, and I’m delighted I can do that.
