Laura May Stanley
Laura May Stanley, age 42, passed away on April 27, 2025.
She grew up in Gladwin – a town she loved and never left. Laura spent most of her career in the food service industry, always ensuring those around her were well fed and cared for. A homebody, she found her greatest joy in spending time with her children and fiancé, often with her favorite songs playing in the background – songs her family came to know by heart.
Laura was a devoted mother, daughter, partner, and friend. She had a sharp, unpredictable sense of humor that kept everyone on their toes – you never quite knew what she was going to say, and that was part of her charm. Her quick comebacks and hilarious observations could light up a room and leave everyone laughing. Her quick wit, vibrant personality, and unwavering loyalty left a lasting impression on everyone who was fortunate enough to know her.
She was preceded in death by her grandmothers: Donna Glasgow and Betty Stenger; and her grandfather, Homer Stenger.
She is survived by her fiancé, Kevin Stead; her children: Ethan Bashur and Reese Kordones; her mother, Cindy James; her father, Victor Stanley; and stepmother Marilyn Stanley; her sister, Tara (Guenther) Thyen; and her brother, Michael (Nicole) Stanley.
A celebration of Laura’s life will be held: Friday, May 23, 2025, 3-7 p.m., Sage Township Hall, 1831 Pratt Lake Road, Gladwin, MI 48624.
