The Gladwin Rural Urban Fire Department was dispatched to 5181 Sargent Road for a structure fire early Tuesday morning.
Smoke detectors woke the people up.
An external light fixture had burned up and set the upper level of the house afire.
While the fire damage to the log home is confined to the upper level, there is considerable smoke and water damage throughout.
